I have noticed many questions regarding how to check the status of an existing warranty for your iPod or other Apple products. This is especially useful when buying products online from auction sites like eBay. If the seller will provide you with the serial number you can go to the Apple site to see how long the product will be covered for or if it is already out of warranty.
First, you will need to find the serial number of you iPod or other Apple device. Here is a link you can use on the Apple site to figure out where to find the serial number on your device: Find your serial number
Once you have your serial number the next thing you will need is the name of the country where it was purchased (Most likely U.S.). Now you may visit this link to fill in the info and check the status of your warranty: Apple Warranty Checker
I hope you have found this info useful and as always, just post below if you have any questions.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackShawn–thanks so much for this info, I was going crazy searching the net for how to find out if my ipod was still under warranty, so many sites and formus said there was no way to check or look at your receipt (which is long gone now)! Navigating around Apple’s site is such a pain sometimes. Thanks again this was so much easier should have came here first! Luv your site.
